Princeless fan art of Princess Adrianne

I’m pretty happy with how this came out. I need to reference lunging legs, but this is more interesting than a standing pose

I don’t draw armor often, but I’m pretty happy with how I did here, I used the fcbd issue of Princeless for my reference. I haven’t been able to find book one, I don’t have any e reader so I can’t download it, I’ll get it eventually.

Check out princelesscomic.tumblr.com for art and thinks about Princess Adrienne, a princess of color who can handle herself

I drew this for today’s VEDA (Video every day in April) unlike my other drawing videos where you get to watch the entire piece be created, I filmed progress clips because I don’t have a tripod.
This is a response to another person’s VEDA, her name is MaryDoodles and she asked her audience to draw their favorite urban myth creature. I don’t think I’d ever call yeti’s my favorite but I liked the idea of a greasy surfer punk of a yeti and the SkiFree reference had to be there , more than once.

Obviously, this was all traditional, prismacolor colored pencils and it took about an hour and a half.

The image is the correct orientation on my computer, I don’t know why it’s landscape here :(

I think I figured out how to draw a plaid I’m satisfied with traditionally. Out’s not the most sophisticated thing but I find it functional.

A quick scribble of Smyth on the left and his older brother Jayden discussing my improvements in rendering plaid. I don’t know where Smyth got yellow pants, those were supposed to be khaki, but undyed khaki tan is an awkward color to achieve, and I chose the wrongest marker.

I saw this guy walking yesterday, I did the sketch then hatched it today. All ball point pens. I found him durable with his Einstein/John Green puff going on and windbreaker. The books he carried were triplets and his backpack was so stuffed that he couldn’t zip it closed.

I don’t spend enough time on drawings like this where it’s someone I see in passing, I think I’d like to try doing these more often.

Steve is an antagonist in Lawrence’s Diary. I’m not that big of a fan of giraffes, but I kind of like how he dresses like a preppy bro. I drew this last week but was only able to get this to post now

Early stage of a painting of Chickstronaut and her deputy, I started it on friday. She’s riding a giant green bottle tarantula and he’s on a bold or daring jumping spider,i’ve forgotten which.

This is the first painting I’ve done in about a year, I’m working on 2 right now, but the other once needs to be kept under wraps a bit.

This if the first time I’ve gotten to depict some of my original characters in an oil painting, I’m excited about that so I hope this goes well. The canvas is 12x24”, so this is really small. I originally conceived of this image but to be a painting, but more like a water color or something small do it had a caption. I’m abandoning that, so I have a few weeks to decide on a title, hopefully my progress will pick up and I’ll be able to share a realized final idea soon.

I think in honor of this piece I need to watch Eight Legged Freaks and maybe some giant monster movies … That’d be fun, but first, I finish Battlestar Galactica.

Gravity Falls ink wash

I’m sure you all got tired of seeing those instagram preview pictures last week, but here is the final version of that Gravity Falls piece from before. I enjoy painting was pieces so I didn’t hate working on this, it just became more than what I anticipated. This is partially inspired from having just read through Charles Addam’s Addams Family: An Evilution and seeing such cleaver, creepy and fantastic wash comics. The left of normal reality in the Addams Family seems to just make sense for me and pairing that with Gravity Falls. There are flaws but I’m pretty happy with what the final piece looks like.  I have plans for another Gravity Falls piece, but it’ll be a while before I work on that one, I dream big and that piece will be time consuming for it to look good. The thumbnail currently has 11 figures and is 9x24”. When (if?) I do that one I will most definitely post it online, I just have my own characters to take care of for a while.

Hipsterhood Fanart: Faux Fur Girl and Cereal Guy

I loved this moment, that quick pan, during one of the Kickstarter videos (I think the initial one) so here’s my rendering of Liz Ferriaris and Kit WIlliamson from that moment. FFG is wearing most of the outfit from ep 2 and CG is wearing the outfit from ep 6/7 I couldn’t get the black in the plain, I didn’t think it’d look too good.
If you have’t heard of Hipsterhood, go watch it, either click that first link, or this one to the YouTube playlist. It’s short and silly.
If you dig it, their kickstarter is going on for another 5 days, they have made their main goal but if people like you (U! YOU!!!) help, and they make their push goal we the viewer (so, people like you, again) will get a behind the scenes, making of type of thing. I love stuff like that, I have kicked it but if more people do that’d be awesome. That’s not why I drew this, I drew this because I really like the show and I think more people ought to watch it. I drew this because I found that moment in the kickstarter video to be adorable and I wanted to :)
