Did I spend too much time on this? Possibly, but I still have a solid 3 hours to work before class.
Forever ago in Internet time I helped with the theatrical kickstarter for a movie I knew next to nothing about called The Selling about a realtor who’s trying to sell this haunted house. One of the backer rewards was a download of the movie (i backed high enough to get the dvd and some other stuff) and it took me honestly 8 tries to download the file. I kept trying to watch it only to realize I had downloaded maybe half of the movie not resizing I didn’t have the entire file. Finally I had it all and I couldn’t watch it because I had comics to draw.
Cut to last night, I’m cold, eating dinner and needed something to watch. Chili is nonconducive to eating while drawing, so I decided to finish this movie.
It’s funny, weird and a fun labor of love. I love the animated title sequence, I love what the monster is and everything. It has its holes, everything does, I don’t care, I’ve loved less capable movies.
So, there’s this great scene where Richard Scarry, played by Gabe Diani, is yelling at Ginger Sparks, played by Etta Devine, and he made the best faces. I think I made sketch some of his other expressions but I liked this one a lot. Go watch this movie, it’s pretty great. It’s on Itunes and I think amazon. Their site link go give them some love!
